An old friend asked in a FB post what we might be able to do to reduce gun violence in the U.S. It's a great goal. I worry that real discussion doesn't happen enough in our sound-bite, drive-by-post society. I know I've got more thoughts about it than seem appropriate on FB. Maybe you do, too.
I created this blog to address that need. Perhaps we can avoid extreme rhetoric and really discuss this and other issues. (Another lofty goal).
So that's what this blog is for.
I invite your rational comments. Keep them direct but as polite as you can make them. If you talk, please listen. One of my favorite passages frames how I hope we will communicate: "Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath." (James 1:19)
I'll reserve the right to delete inappropriate posts. An inappropriateness will more likely refer to the way whatever is said rather than what is said.
Okay then. Let's move toward middle ground.
